PROGRAMME SCOPE

The biggest ever technological advancement this century has witnessed is making machines to think and act like human, engaging the science of Artificial Intelligence, powered by Data. AI driven by Data will be dominant in every aspect of human life with the scope for its application becoming limitless. Autonomous Vehicles, Virtual Assistants (Alexa, Siri), Domestic Assistants (maid robots), are some of the existing examples, while many are being developed every single day. The field of AI & DS is emerging as the most promising one for young engineers who have a flair for data and visualization.

Programme Educational Objectives

PO1:To enable graduates to pursue higher education and research or have a successful career in industries associated with Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, or as entrepreneurs.
PO2:To demonstrate excellence in cutting-edge technologies of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and solve problems in society.

Programme Outcomes

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions
Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations
